Project overview.

This project explores a structural glass intervention to an existing private residence in Chilgrove, West Sussex; a crescent-shaped dwelling sitting within the South Downs National Park, originally designed by Ecotecture Ltd.

Jake White Architecture was appointed to develop concept options for a dramatic entrance canopy that could hold its own against the ambition and design quality of the original house. Working at Stages 1–2, the brief required exploring how contemporary structural glazing could be introduced without compromising the resolved character of the existing scheme.

The project remains at concept stage, with options developed and presented to the client.
