Effective Date: March 2026
1. Nature of the Tool
The Tool is a preliminary design aid only, intended to assist with the visual exploration and conceptual development of building components. It is not a substitute for professional design, structural engineering, or compliance verification. The Tool does not produce fabrication drawings, construction drawings, or specifications suitable for building, procurement, or regulatory approval.
2. No Compliance Warranty
Outputs have not been verified against any building regulations, standards, or codes of practice — including the Building Regulations 2010 (England and Wales), associated Approved Documents, British Standards or any international equivalent. No representation or warranty is made that any output complies with any regulatory requirement.
3. User Responsibility
By using the Tool, you acknowledge that:
- You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy, suitability, and regulatory compliance of all outputs.
- You will not rely on any output as a final design or instruction for construction without your own verification.
- You will ensure all outputs are reviewed and validated by you as a competent person, in consultation with others as necessary, before any stair design or associated works are built.
- Any use of IFC or other file exports is entirely at your own risk.
4. Limitation of Liability
The Tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the provider shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost, or expense (whether direct, indirect, or consequential) arising from the use of or reliance upon any output, any errors or omissions in the outputs, any decisions or actions taken based on the outputs, or any failure of the Tool to identify non-compliant configurations.
5. Professional Advice
Nothing provided by the Tool constitutes professional advice. Users remain responsible for obtaining any specialist input (structural, fire, regulatory) that falls outside their own competence. Provision of this free tool does not constitute BRPD appointment formally or informally.
6. Intellectual Property
The Tool is provided free of charge. Outputs (including IFC files, DXF files and visual previews) may be used freely at your own discretion. The Tool itself, including source code and design, remains the intellectual property of the provider. Credit to ATPT (Architectural Technologist Power Team) — inspiration for development of the Tool was as a result of a group discussion.
7. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Tool following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
